A hyperlink is a way you can let a user easily go to another page
on your website or an external website. If you are going to link
to an external website the link must start with http:// (e.g.
http://www.totaledit.com). To link to an external website go to
the other website and copy the address from the location bar:
Once
you have the copied the location or url of the page you would like to
link to highlight some text in your document with the mouse and click
the "Insert Link" button from the toolbar.
On
the left is a list of the pages that are already in your website.
If you would like to link to these just select one with the mouse from
the list. If you do not see the link to your own website in
the list, click the reload button at below the main editting
window.
To link to an external website click "Web
Locations" as shown above and you will see a screen similar to below:
Paste
the name into the "Address" box as shown. Click the magnifine
glass to the right of the box to preview the website you are linking
to. this will ensure that you have linked the page
correctly. The "Title" field is optional and will be displayed in
some browsers when the mouse moves over the link. To change which
window the link will open to select from the list of windows from the
pull-down.
Click ok and you have just created a link. You can also link to email addresses and documents using this same process.
